I'd like to tell you a bit about myself so we can get to know each other better. Here's a glimpse behind my motivation to incite creative expression in people I meet and love.
Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
How true that is! How many of you remember painting, cutting out paper and pasting glitter and pom poms on your creative projects? How did it make you feel? Did you just burst with joy in your personal universe of creative imagination? Then we grow up and it's no longer part of our lives. But something is missing...
It’s my goal to nurture in people the inner child or inner artist. It’s in each of us! It's a need we have that tends to get pushed aside by the “have to’s” in life. We are filled with anxiety, yet we CAN reduce that toxic anxiousness with some creative expression! There are so many creative avenues to pursue it can be overwhelming. Through the years my dear husband endured my art supplies on our kitchen table. (I would clean the supplies off occasionally;) I tried to find a place in our home I could let my art supplies live and be used frequently. So he rearranged our living room so I could enjoy the lovely lighting by the window everyday! I encourage you to get out your dusty water colors or pastels and begin your own creative process.
If you don't yet have supplies of your own, the ArtLoft is a lovely place to take a class. Supplies are available to use, so you can find out what medium appeals to you. I am so excited to share with you ArtLoft’s first Gouache class! This medium creates delightful brilliant colors, it's incredibly versatile and I'm so excited to take you through this new artist discovery! I will be happy to tell you a bit about how gouache works and then we will create an Under the Sea World of Wonder!
I hope you can join us Friday September 22 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. The workshop has only 10 spots, minimum 5. I look forward to seeing you there! We provide supplies and snacks. Only $45 for this unique workshop.
